Minimalist News is a small, open source project. This policy is intentionally short: here is exactly what happens (and doesn't happen) with your data when you visit.
This site sets two cookies in your browser: lang, which remembers your language preference, and si, which remembers whether you'd like article images shown. Both are used only to personalize your own visit and are never sent anywhere else or linked to your identity.
Google Analytics is used to understand aggregate traffic (how many people visit, which pages are popular). It may set its own cookies and is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Article headlines are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the short AI summaries shown on this site -- no personal information is included, just the public headlines themselves. Bootstrap and this site's fonts are loaded from third-party CDNs, which may see your IP address as part of serving those files, the same as any website using a CDN.
Each page includes a hidden HTML comment (visible only if you view the page's source) that reflects your own approximate location and browser identifier back to you, derived from standard request headers. It's never stored or shared with anyone -- it's simply printed back into the page you're already loading.
